Religious school
Imagine a Hebrew School in a congregation that is vastly different …where children and parent(s) can come together in a small group atmosphere that encourages thoughtful engagement with Jewish culture, history, prayer and Torah, and Jewish values. Not just as intellectual concepts but as meaningful elements to incorporate into daily living. Not just rules that are obeyed or ignored…but infusions of understanding about our ancient and modern civilization of Judaism and what it can mean to all of us, no matter what
our ages.
We strive to offer to everyone an open gateway to Jewish learning, spirituality and experience without an 'agenda'. We recognize the intelligence of each person, young and old, and encourage an atmosphere of sharing thoughts, listening and cooperation with an emphasis on respectful group dynamics. Congregation Ahavath Sholom, Reconstructionist Judaism and our learning program provide unique opportunities to practice these ideals.
THE CONGREGATION AHAVATH SHOLOM LEARNING PROJECT...A FRESH APPROACH
We understand the demands of the modern family both on parents and children and schedule sessions with that in mind. To begin the process, parent(s) will meet with our Spiritual Leader, Barbara Cohen, who guides and teaches in our program. Exploring family background and values assures that we can sensitively set realistic and attainable goals for each child. Please contact us at 413-528-4197 or email us at info@ahavathsholom.com for more information on how to take this step toward a fresh approach to Jewish learning.
